The state of Tabasco, in the south of Mexico became 100% smoke free in 2009. Since then, the state government and Ministry of Health has supported smoke-free environments via different strategies, communication campaigns being one of the most important strategies to inform the population about the law and to communicate the dangers of smoking and of secondhand smoke.
