Vital Strategies partnered with three other global health organizations to release “Trouble Brewing,” which lays out the burden of harms related to alcohol, identifies the most important interventions governments can make to prevent death and injury, and exposes the insidious influence the alcohol industry has on alcohol policy.
The Sobering Truth: Incentivizing Alcohol Death and Disability
In “The Sobering Truth,” Vital Strategies uncovered the billions of dollars given to the alcohol industry through tax breaks, marketing subsidies and other incentives, even though its products cause premature death and illness and trigger crime, domestic violence and road injuries.
Fool Me Twice
With this report, Vital Strategies showed how the same unacceptable practices that made the tobacco industry a global pariah are used by the alcohol and food industries. “Fool Me Twice” urges governments to adopt lifesaving policies to curtail the influence of these harmful industries and keep them away from the policy table.

Public Opinion on Alcohol Policies in Sri Lanka
This research article published in Frontiers in Public Health presents the results of the public opinion survey conducted in Sri Lanka, with the aim to understand the public’s understanding of alcohol harm, alcohol influences, and the level of public support for alcohol policies, particularly taxes on alcohol products.
