David A. Caputo, Ph.D.

President Emeritus and Retired Professor of Political Science, Pace University

Dr. David A. Caputo, Ph.D., President Emeritus of Pace University, is retired and currently living in Fort Collins, Colorado where he has taught as an Adjunct Professor of political science at Colorado State University. He received his B.A. from Miami University and his Ph.D. from Yale University in political science. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and has received NSF and Danforth Fellowships, as well as two Fulbright Fellowships, including the senior Fulbright award at the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy.

His academic appointments include a full professorship at Purdue University, Dean of Liberal Arts at Purdue and the presidency at Hunter College and Pace University. He has also been a visiting professor at Harvard and Princeton, and he has served on the American Council of Education national board.

Dr. Caputo currently serves on the Board of Vital Strategies (Audit Committee), Project Pericles (Treasurer) and is Chair of the Board of the Vital Strategies Action Fund. He has published a variety of books and scholarly articles and continues his work as an election commentator for various news organizations.
